Karina Junker made her television commercial debut in the Dominican Republic and has been steadily honing her skills ever since, landing roles in an array of English and Spanish film, television, commercial, voice over, print and dance music projects. Born on May 3, 1980 and a native of Ciudad Victoria, Mexico, Junker moved to the United States when she was eight years old. She began taking piano and singing lessons at an early age and performed in local plays as a teenager. At the age of 18, Junker went to Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic to do community service for two weeks, but fell in love with the island so much that she stayed for five years. It was during this time that she booked her first international commercial and print campaign for Tricom. Junker attended Universidad Iberoamericana in Santo Domingo, where she did a three-year study in Psychology. She completed her Bachelor of Arts at InterAmerican University of Puerto Rico in 2002. During Junker's first semester in graduate school at Columbia University, her mother was involved in a serious car accident, which left her in a coma for nine years. Despite the hardship, Junker completed her degree, receiving a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology. Witnessing first hand the fragility of life, Junker had a change of heart and opted to immerse herself completely in her lifelong passion -- acting. Junker's most notable work includes her role as a bilingual television host for Cigna HealthSpring; a supporting role as 'Tatiana' in Mercury Plains, starring Scott Eastwood, Clint's son; an international Hispanic market commercial as the voice for Starbucks Refreshers; the voice for the feature film campaign Bless Me, Ultima; the voice for a Speech Recognition Software for Toshiba; a print advertising campaign for United Airlines & Chase Bank; and her lead role as 'Marina' in Dissonance, which was an official selection in the 2012 Cannes Court Métrage at Cannes Film Festival.
